Farm Layout
Upon entry to the farm, a surprise awaits as the sprawling front yard is neatly organized into rows of vegetables growing in a variety of ways: in the ground, on terraced hillsides, in wooden planter boxes, recycled containers (old bathtubs, styrofoam pancaking boxes. Water bottles, water tanks and drip irrigation lines are in the mix to provide the necessary water. A terraced patch of land dubbed “Bath Boulevard” can be observed, meticulously laid out with old baths for the planting of organic vegetables. Composting Center, huge water tank for rainwater harvesting are all central to the operations of the farm as the entire life cycle sits on this single patch which is skillfully utilized for maximum production. Some of the contents of our farm include, string beans, carrots, tomatoes, lettuces, beetroot, arugula, basil, turmeric, ginger, kale, avocado pear trees and others.
A farmers work is never complete or easy – from planting to harvesting, packaging to distribution and motivation for the team is important. Thus the Packaging Facility is placed lose to the end of the farm tour, designed based on requirements for certification. The full tour of the facilities end with the Seedlings Nursery, symbolizing the beginning of the organic generation journey.
